I am a girl with a lot of hair, to manage it can be difficult, especially the condition.
I am not one for spending a lot of money on products. To be honest, I just feel that everyone’s hair is different and searching for high-end products can be really expensive.
In the UK, we have a shop called Savers. This is where I get a lot of my beauty products, it’s also great for baby wipes and face wipes. I am terrible for buying in bulk so I then always have a backup.
I have been searching for a good shampoo and conditioner, without breaking the bank. I’ve tried numerous different ones and nothing really worked for me.
My main problems are that after washing my mane, trying to get a brush/comb through it. It is knotty and I can literally pull handfuls out trying to do it. If it wasn’t for the thick hair, I’d probably be bald, it’s honestly a nightmare.
I started doing a little research, asking friends and my hairdresser, what the best products to use were. With the information, I had found out and what kind of shampoo/conditioner I needed, I was on the hunt.
My friend at work recommended the Schwarzkopf Gliss Liquid Silk Shampoo & Conditioner, at this point I was sceptical, not because of what was recommended to me, but because I had lost hope that I wouldn’t find a high street one and I’d have to spend over the odds to get something good.
Well How Wrong Was I?
This stuff was amazing. I have never had results like this where I didn’t pull most of my scalp out to get a brush through it. From washing the shampoo out, I could tell the difference immediately, I knew this was going to be good.
Once I have finished washing out the shampoo, I whacked a load of conditioner in and combed it through, just to make sure that it was coating all of my hair.
When I stepped out the shower and got my brush, it just glided through. Wasn’t painful and wasn’t ripping my hair out from the root. I was simply…overjoyed. I also don’t use any ordinary brush, I use one specifically for people with thick, from the brand The Wet Brush. This is amazing for tacking my mane as well, but it’s taken a hit in recent months, so may need to purchase a new one, now that I have found this shampoo and conditioner.
The condition is amazing and I am beyond happy that I no longer need to feel that paralyzing fear when it’s time to wash my hair.
I tend not to use any further products after washing it. However, I probably should, but I just wouldn’t know where to start.
Luckily, I can actually go quite a while without washing it, I do it about twice a week and for me, I wouldn’t want to do it more unless I needed to. If you wash your hair too often, it could potentially make the condition worse, taking too many of the nutrients out.
To Get Me Out The House
What I couldn’t live without though is dry shampoo. I have always wanted to try other brands like Ouai, but I don’t think you can go wrong with Baptiste. You just have to make sure you get the right one like for me I have to avoid any of the ones that mention volume. This bush on my head does not need any more volume girl, so I avoid it like a salad. I just use the original one at the moment and it does what I need it to do, makes sure I don’t look like a greasy mook.
That’s pretty much it guys. I will start experimenting with other hair products, like sprays etc.and keep you updated.
Tell me about what products you use, especially you thick-haired beauties out there.
