I am constantly trying new things with my skincare, there are so many products out there and I don’t feel I have the best skincare routine, so I always like to shake things up.
When it comes to skincare, one of the tasks I find most tedious, is removing all my make up. Now I wouldn’t say I am caked in it, but I wear a fair bit when it comes to my base because of hiding blemishes.
I decided to go shopping at The Body Shop recently, but I wasn’t trying to find anything to remove my make up, I actually went in for a new night cream. I recently ran out of my most recent one, which I wasn’t overly keen on anyway, so I was excited to try something new. But there was a 3 for 2 offer on skincare and beauty…how could I resist.
I did a bit of research on the customer reviews online and decided I wanted something from the Vitamin E range, as this was getting great reviews.
When I was in the shop, she talked me through the products and I decided on the Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream.
When it comes to night creams, I want something that is really nourishing. The claims for this product are:
“Rich yet easily absorbed night cream that protects, replenishes and helps prevent moisture loss overnight”
This sounded like it was right up my alley, I definitely wanted something that would help keep my skin moisturised, especially during the summer season as my skin always dries out when the seasons change.
Firstly, the smell of this cream is subtle but gorgeous, I can’t actually describe what this smells of, but for me it just smells really clean, not horribly scented.
I find it really nourishing, it’s quite a thick consistency but sinks brilliantly into the skin. I wouldn’t say it’s overly greasy, once rubbed in, it just makes your skin glow and feel thoroughly moisturised.
I have noticed an improvement in my skin, it’s so much softer in the morning and just feels more hydrated. Is it worth £14? I think so, but the amount you get for that price (50ml) is quite small, but a little does go a long way.
Would I re-purchase, I am not sure, I’ll decide that when I get to the bottom of the tub. I think it’s a great product, but £14 is quite a lot for a small tub of cream, but with the 3 for 2 offer, as long as you have other products to buy regularly, it’s good.
As it was 3 for 2, I obviously had to get some other products, one of them will be appearing in my May Favourites, as I am already in love with it.
The other product was the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter, I couldn’t decide between this and the Silky Cleansing Oil. I asked the woman in the shop and she said that she would recommend the butter, so that’s what I went for.
I found out quite quickly, this is not a product for my eyes, recently they have been REALLY sensitive, so I do have to remove my eye makeup separately, but I did find out that this doesn’t remove mascara that well, unless you really scrub and even then…not all of it comes off.
I now only use this for removing the rest of my makeup and it does the trick. As you can imagine, as it’s a butter, it’s a little greasy, but I think that helps remove all makeup and as I use a toner after this, the greasy texture doesn’t last that long.
The smell, as you can imagine, is gorgeous, again, such a clean smell to it, which I love, as my favourite smell is clean cotton.
The only thing I felt about this was, again similar to the cream above, the amount of product for the money, isn’t that great, but again a little goes a long way. I just wipe my cotton pad into the butter and apply this to my face, wiping all the make up away. Its not like you have to scoop a lot of the product and apply it to your face.
Would I repurchase, maybe one day, but I am going to try the oil after I have finished with this product.
I hope you have enjoyed reading and until next time…
