Hello My Beauties
If you have read other posts, you will be aware that I use to have a subscription to the Birchbox Beauty Box, unfortunately I wasn’t the biggest fan, so after a 4 months, I decided to cancel that and subscribe to another.
I had done a lot of research into the best beauty box subscriptions, to decide which one I wanted to give a try. I found a lot of reviews and Glossybox seemed to come up trumps.
So I put in my subscription and received my box not long after that.
Firstly I want to talk about the packaging as their presentation is absolutely gorgeous. Unlike Birchbox, they had a monthly theme and the box was different each time, but for me I didn’t really notice the effort they’d put into it. Where as the Glossybox have the same design each time, but the quality is much more impressive. When you open the box you have a gorgeous pink tissue paper wrapped around all your goodies and a sticker sealing the tissue paper together with their logo on it. I absolutely love the time and effort they have gone to when packing each persons box, it also makes you feel like you are opening a monthly present to yourself. Once opened the box is lined with black paper pieces making all the products stand out and not just dumped into there, so for me, it’s a 10 out of 10 for packaging.
As you can see from the picture above, I received 5 products from them to give a try.
Figs and Rouge Hydra-Activ Smart Nutrient Vital Moisture Day Cream
This product just wasn’t for me, I didn’t find it moisturised my skin the way I want it. I want something really hydrating, plumping my skin and giving me that dewy look for the day and I didn’t feel this did. This costs £28 for 50ml and I wouldn’t dream of purchasing this.
Schwarzkopf Professional BC Bonacure
I was quite reluctant to try this due to it containing keratin, which is drying on the hair. Due to the fact that a regularly dye my hair, it is already dry, but I thought I would give it a go for the basis of this review. Unfortunately I was right…it was very drying on my hair and the ends dried out so quickly. Also I am not keen in the way in which this needs applying. The directions say it was must applied to clean, towel dried hair…not a problem I thought, I can apply as soon as I get out the shower….how wrong was I? Once it’s been applied and left for 5-10 minutes, it then needs to be washed out thoroughly. So I have to get out the shower, dry my hair with a towel, apply, wait, then get back in the shower! I don’t have time for that and won’t be doing it again.
oOlution Eye Love
I love trying out eye creams, mainly as I suffer with terrible under eyes. No matter how much I sleep, I will always have dark circles under my eyes, they are just natural for my skin now. I was excited to receive an eye cream, as I have tried so many and not one as shown me an improvement and sadly, neither did this one. It’s a very thick consistency, so I didn’t use it before applying make up as it didn’t settle well, so decided to use it at night times. I am still using this on the off chance that it needs to be used for a consistent amount of time to notice a difference, but as of yet, no difference.
This Works – In Transit Camera Close Up
This was a nice primer for under my foundation but again unfortunately it wasn’t for me. I require a primer that helps with my pores and this doesn’t do that sadly. It won’t be something I would use again and I might pass onto a friend.
Sleek Eye and Cheek Palette
Now this…I was expecting to be terrible, I really didn’t have high expectations of this, but how wrong was I!
The eyeshadows are absolutely gorgeous, blend out perfectly and give you a really natural look. The highlight is lovely, not as good as the Solstice palette I own, but still good. The blush I wasn’t overly impressed by, mainly due to the colour, I do like pink, but this was the wrong shade of pink for me.
I am really happy with this palette and will continue to use it, especially for travelling as it’s so compact.
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed it. I have just received my April Glossybox and I am really excited to try it all out.
Until next time….
